La Dame Blanche

Luedji Luna’s songs portray racial prejudice, feminism, female empowerment, especially of black women. She also portrays Afro-Brazilian culture in the way that she dresses, demonstrating in her lyrics the Africanness of Brazilians. Luedji Luna sings about African-based religions, herbs and Brazilian customs deriving from African culture, mixing Afro-Brazilian rhythms, R&B, jazz and blues, in addition to Brazilian popular music. In 2017, she released her debut album “Um corpo no mundo”, which brought her to Europe (and Portugal) for the first time in the summer of 2019. In 2020, she released her second album, which included a visual album, “Bom mesmo é estar debaixo d’água”, awarded the best album of the year at the Women’s Music Events Awards in Brazil.
